M16 #33 The leather is ink markedM16 #33 Shell: The shell is an original German, WW1, Model 1916 shell. It measures as a size 66 with the manufacturer stamps not visible. This shell is mostly solid and intact but has had a tough 100 years of existence. When acquired there was no original paint and I am quite convinced this shell spent part of its life as a hanging pot plant; there were a couple of drain holes punched in the crown and there were three holes around the rim where the
