Basement Type:Framed Preheater Building at KandosA coiled rope hangs from a brick column in the basement of the administration building at Awaba Colliery, where an overturned office chair sits on a desk and long shadows cross the concrete floor. The surface pit top at Awaba operated from 1947 until coal reserves in the Great Northern Seam were exhausted in March 2012. Part of the Awaba Colliery series.
