Geared Hoist Mechanism Colour:N/A Charles Dransfield built this four-storeyA cast iron gear and drum assembly sits on a heavy timber frame inside the four storey mill at Jembaicumbene, diagonal bracing beams rising to a whitewashed brick wall behind. A thick rope hangs at the left, worn floorboards underfoot. The hoist is one of the few mechanical elements that survived after the steam engine and fittings were sold off following the mill's closure in 1885. Part of the Mill Pond Farm series.
