The title of the painting is an ode and reference to the song ‘We Roll’ by Pete Rock

At its heart is a small anthropomorphic candle figure

and solace

Done as an assignment during my 2nd year of Vapaa Taidekoulu

Sophia Futuristic The title of the paintingThe work is part of a wider feminist series, through which I explore the space of feminine expression and being, which again feels very cramped. As a means of expression, I use the iconic red lips to express disgust, lust or, for example, self confidence. The work is tufted on strong polyester fabric with acrylic threads. The threads are attached to the fabric and the piece to the plywood with non toxic glues. The work does not contain raw materials
